Camp Sukhumvit: Day One Summary

Our inaugural 'Camp Sukhumvit'  has kick-started successfully! Boys and girls between the ages of 7&10 had participated in 2 hours of each tennis (Play N Stay) and golf (SNAG). Thank you Marriott and Xcite Golf for providing the location, meals, and recreation for this camp to become possible.

The weather was great! I woke up this morning to pouring rain outside my window, but as I stepped off from the Phrom Phong Bts station it was dry! I was relieved and eager to start the camp off dry.

Activities we ran today included:
  • warm-up jog and stretch
  • team relay games
  • ball coordination self & partner activities
  • racket and ball control games
  • proper forehand grip into using the ground strokes
  • playing games to emphasises prior exercise

Everyone gave it their best and became so hungry for lunch!
Lunch was a beautiful buffet provided by Bistro-M inside the Marriott Executive Apartments. The variety of dishes to choose from and the abundance of fresh greens and vegetables and to finish it off dessert was bliss.

As you can see from the photo the salad bar looks immaculate. Just the variety of dressing I had a hard time choosing which one.

Followed by lunch everyone jumped into the salt water pool!
Even Pro James jumped in to have some fun! The pool was just right not too deep and spacious enough for all. A few cannonballs took place!

In the afternoon we jumped into SNAG: Starting New At Golf!
Coach George even learned how to set up his feet from '5 to 7' and line up his left and right hand which are colour coordinated on the golf handle. It was easy! Golf sometimes has the impression that it doesn't require too much physical movement, but boy did the SNAG team get the kids moving today!

Whose this guy with all velcro helmet? Just can't help but to smile! Everyone wanted to try it on.

Lets not forget The 'SNAGMAN' This video was entertaining!

Thank you all coaches, staff, parents, and the Marriott for making our first day so special! We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Lets us also not forget that tomorrow is a very special day...

Back into the swing of things in 2014! My goal is to definitely learn more Thai this year, play more tennis, get into great shape, and as always inspire those who want to become better tennis players. Have a great start everyone to your new year and keep your goals alive and in-line.
