My Pilates encounter @ The Pilatest soi 49

Good day everyone! Yesterday I had a FUN first-time ever pilates experience at 'The Pilatest' located right across the street from Samitivej hospital (soi 49). The objective was to obtain an overall physical analysis of my body through a pilates perspective.  It was definitely a unique experience!

My instructor, the one and only Miss Rachel Park (CEO/Master Instructor).  Miss Park was very detailed and specific about areas that needed attention in my case the scapulae, pelvic, and spine.

Yes, I had all the common tennis characteristic traits from the feet pointing outward, slight right/left shoulder mis-alignment, rib cage alignment, and etc.

In our 1 hour session she took me through some basic movements to help bring awareness to my right side dominant physique. I really felt my 'core' getting worked well which pilates emphasise.

Bringing more 'awareness' to oneself, understanding how to move individual body parts, in addition focus on breathing properly let me tell you... it was a challenge!

Difference between Pilates & Yoga

  • Yoga provides a meditative environment for an individual to improve overall quality of life.  Also focuses on stress release while improving the body.
  • Pilates works from the center outward. Focus on bringing awareness to bodies 'core'.
They both share similarities as well and can not stat one is better than the other. Combining the two may help ultimately lead to a fabulous YOU. It all depends on YOUR GOALS.

I personally love their statement:

'10 session, you feel different.'
'20 sessions, you look different.'
'30 sessions, you have a brand new body.'

"Looking good and feeling great as we age is something that we all desire I hope. Well, at least I do."

I recommend 'The Pilatest' center to anyone looking to give pilates a try!

Staff Introduction:
Shinichi George Kidera  APF ACADEMIES COACH

"The Pilatest center has great staff who speak, Thai, English, and Japanese.  Did you know the studio also has dance by MP Dance Factory."

Back into the swing of things in 2014! My goal is to definitely learn more Thai this year, play more tennis, get into great shape, and as always inspire those who want to become better tennis players. Have a great start everyone to your new year and keep your goals alive and in-line.
