Something to talk about...

Hi, this is Matsushita. Did you know the Wilson just welcomed 100th anniversary??
And their tennis ball has its name and a number written on the ball.
What does the number stands for?

Does it show a rank?

Is #1 always the number 1?
So does it get worse when the number increases?
No, that is not true!!
Usually the balls have number between 1 through 4.
But this year, you might be able to find one with 100 printed on it.
The question is….Why are they numbered and what does it stand for???

So some say..so the balls don't get mixed up

It is so easy to get the balls mixed up with a court next to you during the game..

And the condition of the balls could be very different depending on how long they have been used.
If two courts are using two separate brands that will be easy to differentiate….but that would unlikely happens especially during a tournament.

Know your number

So sometimes the tournament will take an advantage of this numbered ball. One court will use number 1 and the other use any number except one.

So if you come and join our class, we will give you a little something, something about tennis and plus..to keep you amazed. (just a little)
